Between Manerbio and San Paolo
Landscapes of the Brescia countryside
The starting of the itinerary is near Manerbio cemetery, which can easily be reached north-west of the town along the road to Offlaga: start pedalling following the sign for Orzinuovi.
After about one and a half kilometres cross the provincial road and head straight on towards Cignano. You reach this hamlet of Offlaga and from here you carry on first turning left towards Verolanuova, and then, after just one hundred metres, you detour right into Via XXIV Maggio towards Faverzano.
Go past the church into Via Benedetto Tomasi to the next crossroads, near which you turn right along Via Danesi.
You flank the bell-tower of Faverzano, which is isolated by the church, and continue first right into Via Mulino, and then straight left into Via Battisti towards the cemetery.
Pedal gently in the open country until you pick up the provincial road again: turn right towards Brescia at the first crossroads, and follow signs for San Paolo at the next crossroads.
After the subwayon the provincial road turn right towards Trignano and Scarpizzolo and, some ten metres further on, left into Scarpizzolo.
After passing through the small centre of Trignano turn left towards San Paolo and from here, at the end of Via Vittorio Veneto, you turn left onto the cycle path that leads out of the town and head towards Manerbio, crossing the provincial road.
In a row, you pass Cadignano, the shrine of San Rocco and the junction for Faverzano until you come to a roundabout: pedalling in the same direction you leave the municipal area of Verolanuova and enter that of Manerbio.
Now follow signs for the centre and then for the hospital to a crossroads with a traffic light: the itinerary ends turning left towards the cemetery. |
